The Sugar House is Lancaster Universities Student Union nightclub. We are open three nights a week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday plus we have additional openings for external events such as theatre performances, live music and mini festivals. With a capacity of 1348 across 2 rooms we are the biggest venue in the city. Situated down Sugarhouse Alley off the back of St Leonardsgate, we are easily accessible from the Main Bus station and the centre of town. We frequently provide free buses from campus to the venue and we always provide free buses back to campus from 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Now thats the serious introduction out of the way lets get this shiz on with our club nights !!
Wednesday
WISH is the official night at Sugarhouse for our Cumbrian compadres! With the very latest and best in RnB and hiphop in the back room from Cawky and all the latest commercial hits in the front room thanks to Melo. It’s all about the hip grind, the fancy dress and the VK.
Doors open all 11.00pm and entry is £2 before 12 plus there are free buses down starting at 11pm from the Saints Bar!
Fridays
Old’s Cool at Sugarhouse on a Friday as we bring you the most electic music night in this fair city! Simba takes charge of the front room bringing his incredible skill to an appreciative audience. Playing all the biggest RnB tunes, the afro ninja then dives seemlessly into his underground DubStep/Drum&Bass set! With his immeasurable skill, record collection and ownership of serato the rave train cometh!
The Main Room is hosted, compared and dare we say owned by LouD the only female DJ in Lancaster. The theme is retro-vintage-modern, so anything can and will be played and if she doesn’t have it this week it will be sourced out for the next! If you want to hear Pulp, Rhianna, Daft Punk the Small Faces even Gloria Estefan then this is the room for you!

Saturday
Play at the Sugarhouse is the biggest night of the week not only in Sugar but in the ‘Caster too! Cawky takes up a weekly residency in the Front room with his deliciously raucous blend of RnB that has people dancing on the floor, on each others hips, on the sofas and if they could, on the ceiling.
The main room rotates between the bi-monthly residencies of Melo and D.O.D who Mash up all the best in House, Indie, Commerical, Drum & Bass and even the occasional power ballad.
